I want to read 60 books this year. It’s easy. I read 19 in January. I am not reading War and Peace. I read light fun easy reads Escapism at its best.

When I was little, my brother convinced me I went to Kindergarten twice.   I believed him until I was in my 30′s, when my mom and I were having a conversation and I said something about being in kindergarten 2x.     When she stopped laughing at me, she pointed out that had I done kindergarten twice,  I would have been one of the oldest in the class, not the youngest.     I think it just proves I suck at math, which is why I would believe my brother when he told me I did it twice.  I was bad at math, had to get better at it before going to first grade  (makes sense to me)

When I was little, I had a toy cash register, as most kids do.    One day my brother and I were playing store (my brother must have either been bored, or punished if he was playing store with me)   and he was the cashier and when I went to pay he told me I could not buy stuff that was not on sale.      I believed this as well until I started shopping on my own.   I would go shopping w/ my mom and sometimes my dad would come along, but not often, and I always thought everything she bought was on sale.    Once I started shopping on my own, when I was 30 and lived on my own (shut up,  I didn’t want to rent) and went food shopping and nothing was on sale (Coupons were a new concept to me as well)

Come to think of it, maybe I wasn’t a stupid child, maybe my brother was really mean.

He doesn’t remember telling me these things, but knows he did, because that’s what older brothers do. Torment the younger child.      It’s like a law or something.

First came home, so tiny and patient.

From the first time I saw you, you became my bunny.

I adore you so much that I can’t believe you are my niece.     You are such a Cohen, with your attitude and sarcasm and sense of humor.  You are so your mothers daughter and so my niece it’s actually a little frightening.

I remember the first time I saw you in person and the first time you gave me kisses.  I loved when I first moved in to my house and didn’t have furniture yet in the front room, my Friday and/ or Saturday nights became you and mommy sleeping over and you running from one side of the room to the other and then running to me or mommy to give us hugs and kisses

Today I bought you two dolls.  One from me and one from grandma and grandpa.    You opened them up and are now sitting in the bathroom pretending they are talking to each other.   I would rather you brushed your teeth and then played but your imagination is so amazing and I want your baby voice to last a little longer that I am going to just listen instead of telling you to hurry.

I wouldn’t change anything about you, from you love of dolls to your love of science.  I still think you are to young to read mummy’s anatomy books from med school, but I love that you do.

me.    And that is all I claim to be.

I went to my first BlogHer this past weekend.  I had the party/expo pass only though.  It was in NY so I figured why not.

It’s not for me.   I am not in to selling my self, honestly, I  don’t  even blog enough to do that

I want to get back to why I started to blog, just to keep up w/ my life and document stuff I want to remember.

I am also going to use it as a weight loss tool.

I am not going to do a Blogher 12 review.   Just to say that I met some awesome people and saw my amazing friends.
